In selling my home if the basement walls leaked from poor workmanship what would be the average discount I would have to offer in percentage?

Brian, as you realize, you must disclose the problem, even if potential buyers can't see it for themselves. But frankly, leaky basement walls will make your house very hard to sell. That's the kind of thing that really scares buyers off. If you do find a buyer, the price they'll offer would probably be pretty low. Unless the condition is very expensive to fix, I'd recommend having the work done before you put the house on the market. My guess is that it won't cost as much as you'd have to discount your price, in the end. |
