  Can I auction my own home either public or sealed bid?
 
  I don't see why not.  There's nothing in the law says you can't.  But I can see that you might end up with problems unless you plan it carefully.  I suspect this may not be a job for an amateur.   Better consult an attorney about how to set a reserve price, so you couldn't be required to sell if bids didn't come in high enough to suit you.
