Assessment Error |

My home in Los Angeles County is zoned for single family residences. Apparently thirty years ago the county accessor listed it as a duplex since it has a detached garage with a guest house. A recorded convenant with the city prevents a second kitchen.
If the county acessor corrects his error and records the residence as a single family residence, would the taxes and tax rate stay the same, increase or decrease? |

My guess is that your home might assess for less without that duplex classification, but it's perfectly possible to consult with the tax office and ask the question directly. YOu could try phoning in anonymously, or have your lawyer do it for you! |
