My home purchase fell through when the appraisal came in $15K less than the asking price. The seller would not come down in price. Now I'm being charged my lender's appraisal fee ($350). Is there something I could have done to avoid this charge? It's bad enough I had to pay for inspections, lawyer fees, etc. Now this -- all for nothing (but experience). Thank you.
An appraiser did the work and was paid for it, so I'm afraid you're out of luck on this one. Better luck next time...
