Agents Steal Buyers |
| |
 |
Edith, I'm a Buyer Agent Realtor. I've lost two sales recently because my buyers going to open houses were told by listing agents they could save money by making an offer through them rather than me. The listing agents said they would lower their commission so the seller would get a better net sale by way of a lower commission. How can I keep better buyer loyalty from my potential buyer clients? It seems buyers today have no loyalty and are just out to get what ever kind of deal they can. Any advice you have would be helpful. Thanks |

Many who practice exclusively as Buyer's Agents will only take on clients who agree to sign a written contract, the equivalent of a Seller's Agent's listing contract. If you had that, it would protect you. In my state, at least, license law forbids interfering with another agent's contracts, and the actions of those listing agents could be reported to the licensing authorities. As you are a Realtor, I assume those other agents are also, and you could take a complaint to the local Association or Board of Realtors. Let me know what happens; I'm interested. |
