Agent's License Has Lapsed |
| |
 |
I purchased a new construction condo and had my agent at the time sign for the commission. Six months have passed and she has moved and her real estate liscense has lapsed. The catch here is that she was with a brokerage at the time but has since terminated that relationship. I don't want the other person at the brokerage to collect all of the commision. I still have six months to close, can I change agents without any repurcussions? |

How commission is paid on deals that close after an agent has left the firm is a matter to be negotiated by that agent and the company. It should not concern you. Your contract was made with the real estate company, not with the individual agent, and they undoubtedly talked it over and settled the whole thing when your agent left. That commission is owed to the company. What they do with it their business. Don't worry about it. |
