Agent Suggests Referral |
| |
 |
We have sold our home in OK and are moving to Indiana. Our agent wants to set us up with a realtor in IN to find our new home. Since we are moving back to our hometown I don't know that we need that help - it might b e nice but - does letting her do that means she gets part of the commision if we buy a home using the agent she sets us up with? I'm thinking that might not be in our best interest if our new agent has to split their fee severl ways. Thank-you |

Yes, if you use the agent suggested by the one you're dealing with now, a referral fee will be paid. That means your Indiana agent would be working for less money, yes. On the other hand, your present agent would have some interest in the next deal going smoothly, and might be of some use even long-distance.
I can't tell you which way to go, but in any event, understand that if you didn't feel confidence in the new agent once you got to INdiana, you wouldn't be bound to use him or her. It might just be a starting point in your house-hunting and search for someone to represent you. |
