Agent Goofed |

We interviewed 4 agents so we could find someone we believed in. The agent we went with talked about how pictures were her big thing and that she personally took the photos because she found that she did the best job and how meticulous she was. 3 weeks later she shows up in a hurry for us to sign contract so she can get us on mls. She quickly walks thru house snapping photos without letting me pick up glasses on counter, clothes draped in chair. When photos showed up on MLS, they were awful and there was a photo of our backyard with MY CHILDREN in the photo (without my permission or knowledge). The main MLS photo of the front of our house had the light pole in the way, my car in the driveway and the garage door open (when I asked if I needed to go fix everything out front she had informed me she had already gotten a great photo. I thought my husband had taken care of it. Not so. Apparently she snapped this right before she knocked on our door for us to sign contract. We have now been on the market 2 weeks and have only 2 showings. We made her take off the kids photo and replace the bad photos. Unfortunately, most websites still have the bad photos because they receive new listings as they come in, not again after photos are corrected. So my question, are we stuck with her and the photos or if we fire her and get a new agent can we relist it so that it gets sent out with new photos but like a new listing? Or are we still no better off since I heard we have to keep the same mls and websites wont re-receive a listing just because new photos are posted? I just feel like I can't trust her word but I don't want to have a major setback selling the house by changing agents. Sorry this is so long I just wanted to explain details. All advice welcome. |

Your contract was probably made not with that agent but with the brokerage company. Call the office and talk with the managing broker to discuss your dissatisfaction and your concern about what you can do next. Beyond that, I can't give you much specific advice. You always have the right to withdraw a listing, but as for the various web sites -- I just can't help you there. Hope it works out. Let me know. |
