My sister is purchasing a house. The buyer has accepted an offer. After my sister paid to have the home inspection done there was a gas leak found. The seller did not want to pay to have it taken care of or take anything off the price to have my sister take care of it. The seller said she would pay 1/2 and the realtors agreed to make up my sisters half (as it is not safe to purchase). Now the seller wants to back out of it as she says she decided she doesn't want to sell? If my sister were to back out she'd lose her good faith money, what consequences are there for the seller after my sister has spent the time looking, negotiating, getting financing and paying for an inspection?
We are not real comfortable at this point that her best interests are being served? Thank you for your guidance, it is very appreciated. |

It's time to take the whole thing to a real estate lawyer. Good luck! |
