We have had our town home on the market for 5 months and have dropped the price significantly. When we started selling, we were one of 2. Now we are one of 5 town homes for sale. In our development, one is severly underpriced (foreclosure) and one is very high. We are the third lowest property. Our realtor recently told us he decided to leave the agency he was with an go out on his own. We have not been able to get in contact with anyone at his old agency to clarify this. We signed a 6 month contract with him. Recently, he brought us a potential buyer who will buy our home very underpriced. He is very skethy as to whether he is representing this buyer and us at the same time. We don't trust him. Are we still obligated to be under the original contract we signed with him or can we get rid of him? He is not good. Any advice for selling our home? |

It sounds as if you have only a few weeks to go before your listing is up anyway, but you can dismiss that agent by writing to the company he was originally with. You made your listing agreement with that company (read it over to see if that isn't so) and not with the individual agent.
It sounds as if you are really caught in a bad market, and if you do need to sell, you'll have to reduce your price till it attracts buyers. I'm afraid that's all I can say. Good luck. |
