Who Pays the Broker?

Who pays the real estate broker? I am looking for a home and the broker said to me if the seller doesn't want to give him commission then I as the buyer am responsible is this true?

As it works out, in most cases a buyer's broker receives that share of the commission --the "split" -- the seller originally promised to another company that produced the eventual buyer. But some sellers haven't made that promise. This might apply particularly to a seller who hasn't listed the house with an agency at all.

If you don't agree with the broker's requirements, don't work with that person. FInd another broker.
