How long after your contract expires with a realtor can you sell your home to someone who came thru an open house or visit with that realtor?
You know the saying "If all else fails, read the manual (RTFM)". IN this case, the answer lies in the listing contract you signed when you put the house on the market. In most cases, it contains an extension clause for the agent's protection, stating that you will owe a commission if you sell within a certain length of time to someone who saw the place while it was listed. The length of time inserted there may range from one month to six months after expiration. If the blank wasn't filled in, or if your contract is silent on the matter, then you'd better consult your own lawyer before doing anything.
