Building a Garage |

I was wondering about building a garage on my property. It will be detatched, at least 2 cars plus some storage. Do you generally get back what you spend when getting an appraisal or selling the home? Currently we have no garage and limited parking. |

The answer depends on some things I can't know -- the value of your home as compared with others nearby, the size of your lot, average price levels in your neighborhood and the like. It also matters whether you plan to stay in the house for a long time or are thinking of selling in a few years.
Local real estate brokers can give you better opinions than I can. It won't cost you anything to call up a few who are active in your area and ask for advice. |
