| An entry-level license is issued to a salesperson (sometimes called “the agent”). A specific broker takes legal responsibility for the salesperson’s acts, closely supervising him or her. Obtaining a salesperson’s license usually involves study, examinations, and continuing education; further standards are set by each state. It is a mistake to assume that a salesperson is necessarily an uninformed beginner. Often an expert agent chooses to remain associated with a broker rather than to establish a separate office. |
