FSBO Web sites for the pure owner-seller (those who refuse to pay any fees or commissions to any outside person) come and go. Where real estate experts predicted the Internet would be a natural haven for FSBO sellers, they have discovered inherent problems with them. In her research, Blanche Evans, author of Homesurfing.net, discovered that one problem home shoppers cite is the lack of volume in a given area. People like to browse through many listings, comparing pictures, prices, and neighborhood amenities without having to go to several different sites. Another problem seems to be the lack of professionalism and sophistication with which the listings are displayed (one may have a page of descriptive text on a home and the next listing may have three lines), and yet another is an absence of photos.

Professional broker Web sites, like Realtor.com, on the other hand, have thousands and thousands of listings to browse through, giving home shoppers a wealth of information with which to narrow down their decisions on areas, neighborhoods, homes, and seller terms.
