The emotional aspect of buying a home can be extremely intense. Women view their homes as nests, men as their castles and investments. If buying a home with a spouse or partner, it may be wise to talk about what kinds of compromises may be in order, creating less room for conflict when the time comes to choose. Analyzing the ratings in Figure 6.1, establish your own priorities: factors that are essential, those on which you will compromise if necessary, and those that don’t matter at all. Then use Figure 6.2 to fill out the profile of your needs and wants, and to consider housing factors common in your area. |
